This first-winter bird was initially found just outside our area at Blaydon Pond
in January 1984 but soon moved to the hospital grounds and was recorded regularly
until 31st March 1987, also paying visits to North Shields Fish Quay, Jesmond Dene
and Big Waters. Nice to be able to compare the different plumages over an extended
period of time
