This is ‘Elsie’ the famous bird that first appeared on the Farne Islands in August 1984 and returned annually until 1997. She raised single hybrid chicks (with Sandwich Tern) in 1989, 1992, 1996 & 1997 and almost certainly accounted for at least 15 sightings in various coastal localities over the years.
