20th May 2017 \u2013 Druridge Pools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got the chance to go birding again this Saturday.\u00a0 I considered going for the Red-necked Phalarope, which had been found again at Grindon Lough, however after last year\u2019s two dips, and the previous years, poor distance views after three hours in the rain I was not mega keen to be honest.\u00a0 Been a while since I\u2019d been that wet! \u00a0\u00a0This decision, was wise in the end, as the whole day contained constant rain showers, which were often heavy.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Yellow-Wagtail-1-Paul-Buskin-Druridge-Pools-May-17-gallery.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" I found myself yet again at Druridge Pools, which is looking great for birds now.\u00a0 There had been a Temminck\u2019s Stint \u00a0earlier in the week, so I was busy searching through the waders.\u00a0 Yellow Wagtails were again a highlight, with at least five present today; three of which came close to the south hide, as two males were fighting over a female.\u00a0 They must have liked her lots, as they were putting lots of effort into it.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Yellow-Wagtail-3-Paul-Buskin-Druridge-Pools-May-17-gallery.jpg\" larger lake, a selection of birds, came close to the hide, spying me as they went past in pairs.\u00a0 First was a pair of Great Crested Grebes, followed by two Little Grebes, two Tufted Ducks, a pair of Mallards and a pair of Shoveler.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Paul Buskin<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<a
