Two <strong>Common Whitethroats <\/strong>were in scrub south of railway line though neither were singing. A loose flock of 24 Meadow Pipits were feeding on short turf towards the iron bridge. Summerhouse Lane produced a singing <strong>Willow Warbler. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two <strong>Chiffchaffs <\/strong>and a female <strong>Blackcap <\/strong>fed along the Woodhorn hedge and a <strong>Grasshopper Warbler <\/strong>was seen briefly along the east side of the railway line, though not reeling and very elusive. As I drove to Newbiggin a <strong>Short-eared Owl <\/strong>flew north into the Ash Lagoons. Several Wheatears were in the area.<\/p>\n<p>20+ Sand Martins fed around Beacon point and 5 Sandwich Terns flew north, some light Kittiwake passage was noted.<\/p>\n<p>A Tilmouth<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A pleasant morning to be out birding with a few migrants around.
