{"id":8109,"date":"2016-06-02T18:47:08","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T18:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ntbc.org.uk\/?p=8109"},"modified":"2016-06-04T18:51:41","modified_gmt":"2016-06-04T18:51:41","slug":"8109","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ntbc.org.uk\/?p=8109","title":{"rendered":"2nd June 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Decided to try for the <strong>Bonaparte&#8217;s Gull<\/strong> which has been settling to an area E\u00a0of the A189 flyover on the Wansbeck estuary. Parking at North Seaton Colliery &amp;\u00a0coming in from N end worked out well. \u00a0Found the Bonaparte&#8217;s immediately just E of\u00a0the flyover as distinctly smaller than the Black-headed&#8217;s accompanying it. In fact\u00a0at first though it small enough to be a Little Gull but plumage features became\u00a0apparent whilst scoping &amp; flight views showed it to be very different. Behaved\u00a0admirably as later came much closer on to N bank of estuary. Really dainty gull &amp;\u00a0always much more jizz of Little Gull than a Black-headed. \u00a0Well pleased &amp; after a pub lunch at Plough Inn at Ellington (also recommended!) \u00a0on to Druridge Pools. This gave us a prime opportunity to compare Little Gull with\u00a0Bonaparte&#8217;s as three first-summer Little Gulls from N hide flying close to hide. \u00a0Hence flight picture here is the close-up rather than the distant flight pics of the Bonaparte&#8217;s. \u00a0Also at Druridge were 5 \u00a0Ruff , some males in immaculate plumage.
